All parts are fabricated from extruded aluminum or machined from solid billet materials, such as 304 stainless steel and hard drawn copper.

Operating Mechanics

The hinge is balanced so that gravity pulls the blade backward well before it reaches 90° during opening
During closing, the blade swings down until it's aligned with the jaw, then pushes horizontally into the jaw
The end position of the main moving contact is always perfectly perpendicular in the jaw
The axial entry guarantees full contact pressure each time
The final closed position is easy to verify from the ground

The jaw assembly is easily protected with optional ice hood (shown above) to prevent ice build-up on the contacts
The jaw assembly consists of multiple spring- loaded finger contacts to minimize current density at point of contact
Suitable for horizontal, vertical and underhung mounting
Can be operated by swing handle, worm gear or motor operator
Ideal for applications requiring minimal phase spacing or heavy terminal pad loading
Options: silver-inlaid contacts, built-on grounding switch, key interlock system, arcing horns, high speed whips, vacuum or SF6 interrupters, outriggers, strain insulator provisions and more
